Here I am shifting on a uncomfortable chair, starring at the computer screen. It's almost 03:00 am and I don't feel like going to bed. I feel a bit guilty to stay up late and I have no idea why. Although it's half term and I can sleep until noon, I still feel a bit worried as I am the only person awake in my house even my cats are sleeping, everything is so dark and I don't turn the lights on. Things like that makes me want to go to bed, but in the other hand I dont want to. It seems that every single night I go through this dilemma. I would like to know what time do you usually go to sleep, it would comfort me to know that other people also stay up late.

  5. Ohh yumm, I've been indulging in long breakfast lately. Scrambled eggs are my favourite! I tend to go to bed around 12.30 / 1ish and same deal, I always tend to feel a bit guilty as my boy gets up at 4.30 to go to work. I normally sit in the dark blogging or watching lame television. :)

  11. Most of the time I go to sleep around 1:00/1:30. Even when the alarmclock goes off on 6:00. So, you're not the only one!

  12. it really depend when you want to sleep! on weekdays, i sleep latest at 2AM, but that's only because of homework issues. on weekends though, I can go as late as 7AM sometimes because i just don't feel like sleeping.

  13. Sorry, I have to disappoint you. When I (finally) fall asleep, I stay asleep (if I'm lucky). But that is a bit useless information for you. Why worry though? It sounds a bit magical; you who is the only one awake in the middle of the night. You have the world for yourself, you can enjoy the stars, the moon, the peace and quiet. I would say: use that peace and quiet!
And otherwise: take sleeping pills, drink hot milk, count sheep, listen to very boring music, read a very boring book or make yourself so tired that you sleep for a very long time :)
    Good luck with your dilemma!

    Ps. I like your blog!

  15. I know exactly what you're talking about, i'm a night-owl too & go to sleep around 2 or 3 every night. i go through phases of having trouble falling asleep, so sometimes even later, like 4am! in summary, you are not alone :)

  16. Since I was little I never got used to going to bed early. For example, most of my friends in the 5º, 6º year would go to bed at 9pm. But even if I went to bed at 9pm I would just stare and never go to sleep before 11pm. It's true, except of course if the day after I'd gone to bed really late and hadn't got any sleep.
But still today, even if I have to be awake at 7am I stil don't fall asleep before 0h.
It's kind off anoying since my friends aren't like me and I get a little lonely but well, hope you feel comforted. You are not alone :)
Ps. I really, really love your blog, and I love your style...

  17. The first image has made my stomach grumble.
A sleeping routine is alien to my body, which is incredibly unhealthy, I've gambled the decision to sleep or not, with the world around you so deathly silent and calm, it's almost as if you're the only awake person but yet you aren't really fully aware or awake, thoughts drowning in lethargy and fatigue and everything becomes a blurred wave after a while.
It's the euphoric moment when you close your eyes after a few nights of the absence of sleep that makes it seem as though everything is sane again. Maybe that is the appeal of procrastinating sleep for me, but still, I find that the world is beautiful when it is most silent.

  18. I feel guilty about it too... I'm currently looking for a job, and I can sleep till noon too, but I love the nighttime, so I'll stay up until two am, three am, it differs.
I'm sure you are not the only one!

  20. I sleep just as late as well. You're not the only one :)

  21. I do exactly the same as you!!!
I stay up late EVERY single night for no reason!! So stupid. Sometimes I stay up late to study for a test that I have the next day because I always start too late learning for my tests and then I have a lack of time.. But sometimes I'm also the only one in my house who is still awake and then I do just silly stuff like playing a game on the computer or watching blogs. I really recognize your story and I was really wondering too if other people do this too. You are so right, on one hand I really want to go to sleep, but on the other hand I don't. Really weird!
