Dear blog readers, I feel awake and it's 02:05 I made myself a cup of latte and I was thinking about asking you guys a question.. and I really want to know your answers, I was thinking the other day how my style changes, I found out that I am always divided between hmm lets see how can I define ok .. the 60's vintage retro ,floral dresses, old stuff and different hats) or modern rock chic, ripped jeans , bands t-shirts, high heels and lots of rings..I am wearing more the 'vintage' right now but I never know when I will change to ' rock chic or whatever' so you tell me which style do you like best? Girls that wear floral patterned dresses, oxfords, sailor hats and cloth bags, listening to old songs
such as the beach boys.. or girls wearing maxi dresses, t-shirts with leggins, skull
rings, messy hair... listening to Phoenix.( I dont know why I link music with style haha). I hope you get what I mean.
I have to say I love both styles, I can't choose! And I always seem to be awake at this time, I feel tired but I don't want to sleep, if that even makes any sense!

ReplyDeletebut i am a lot like you, somtimes i wear florals and vintage-y things and other times im more rocker-ish. but right now i like girly and vintage looks better!
i tend to switch styles around, too. i wear floral patterned dresses, oxfords, pirate boots, witch boots, granny boots, flats, way-too-high heels, ripped tights, polka-dotted tights, 50s vintage, the list goes on, but i could never pick a style i like best, so i thought it best to come up with a name for my style and that's "eclectic" =)
ReplyDeleteA mixture! While I love the floral dresses, sailor hats and oxfords and I'm not a huge fan of maxi dresses or skull rings; Phoenix, ripped jeans t-shirts, and leggings are a wardrobe staple! ;)

So I think just go with what your mood when you wake up tells you.
You don't have to define yourself.

I don't know which one I like best. It depends on who wears it. But you look beautiful in both so I would say: Wear what you feel like to wear and if one day you feel more like rockchick: do it! Don't bother.

Maybe you are between two styles and both styles look so good on you so dont think about why you wear this or that just do, what you like and i mean wear what your like to wear. The ROCK CHIC ist Nice and i realy like how you combine your clothes and the 60's vintage Retro is the perfect style for you ether because you have sutch a cute face :)

ReplyDeletei like both, i guess. i'm in the same situation as well, when i don't know which style to choose. i love vintage clothing and flower dresses, but i also love skinny jeans and over sized shirts with tons of accessories. And those two styles are so different, so i feel like i have to choose only on of them.
I think I like the messy, grungey rocker style, but with elements of femininity...sort of a mixture of both! I find that really girly outfits can be a bit nauseating, but overly rock-chick outfits can look a bit try-hard at times.

You can wear both styles very good but I personally recommend you definitely "the 60's vintage retro, floral dresses, old stuff and different hats" style ... ahhh I love the 60s :D

ReplyDeleteThe important thing is that you wear what you like, even if it totally contrasts with something you wore before. If you feel comfortable in both styles, keep wearing them. Really, nobody wants to be one-sided, so why should your clothing style be?

oh my good, that are just my thoughts.. I have just the same problem and i´m stuck in the middle. I love all die silver jewelery and oversize blazers connected with high heels but i also love the old fashion vintage style with granny dresses and oxfords. Why do i have to choose? Its boring wearing the same style all the time! Who say you should just have this one direction? I like it both so i wear it both, thats my personal opinion! And i like both styles on you ;)

I really think that you wear both kinds of styles equally! :-) But I must admit I'm most of a 'rock chic' even though I have a lot of different styles mixed as you do. i have the exact same dilemna as you do! some days i feel abit more girly and toss on a floral dress and my oxfords, other days i wear black skinnies with a blazer, thrown on with tons of necklaces and rings. I say don't choose between the two, embrace both styles and dress up depending on your mood. Wouldn't it be quite boring to just stick to one?

do you have to choose? I dont think so. I prefer not to dress in one style,because it circumscribe you. Fashion is so various that one day you can be retro girl and another rock chic. Dont focus on unimportant things like "oh i like this shoes, but they are not really in my style!" just buy them and wear as you like. Have fun! :D

I don't think you should have to assign yourself to one particular style though, the great thing about fashion is that it's always evolving and so is our taste and inspiration.
