Long Hair VS Short Hair
For the past few weeks, I've been seriously thinking of getting my hair cut. The current length of my hair is a bit below shoulder blade. In fact, for years my hair hasn't grown longer than that. Perhaps, due to two reasons: 1. When it gets to shoulder length it gets stuck/take ages to grown longer 2. I cut it all again. For years all I have ever wanted was a long hair and I mean tailbone length. I'm aware that in order to fulfill this wish I have to take care of it and DO NOT cut it. However, I can't stand its current length, it is in between. Therefore, the dilemma is that it is not too long to let it grow further neither too short to cut it.
Analyzing the pros and cons of short and long hair did not help either. Short hair is too cute for words but, long hair is beautiful and, you have the option to braid. When I was googling about it yesterday I found this article Very Good Reasons Not To Cut Your Hair. I thought it would convince me not to cut it. It didn't and, not to mention that one of the pictures on it was mine ha-ha. So, tell me what do you think? One must be patient and dislike one's hair for a (quite long) period of time until it reaches the desired length or cut it short and, after some time go through the same dilemma over again. Psh! I understand your dillema! I have had my hair long and short. My hair is also thick. I actually prefer it long but it is very hard to maintain because it is so thick, but when it is short it is much easier to maintain but I can't do as much with it. Best of luck with your decision! x

If i see the pictures short team looks much better and cute and more vintage. I guess too much long hair isn't nice, But your hair has the perfect length.
ReplyDeleteI personally like short hair a lot. I think it makes young women look mature and sophisticated and with the addition of bangs (which you fortunately have) add a cute and fashionable quality as well. You have the kind of face and taste that if you cut your hair short, you won't look like a little girl. If you style it correctly I think you can totally work it :)
ReplyDeleteI got the same problem! I think we both should cut our hair. Then we have some moral support :)
ReplyDeleteCut it. It will grow back. Maybe you'll regret it and never cut it again. But you'll never find out if you don't.
ReplyDeletelooooooong!!
ReplyDeletePersonally I have grown tired of long hair. Two days ago I made a friend of mine, who is a hairdresser, to cut off 20cm, and I love it! To me, long hair is just a drag and i enjoy the freedom to not wear a ponytail every day.
ReplyDeleteHaircuts aside most of those portraits are amazing!! haha
ReplyDeleteI had the same problem as you some time ago and finally I decided to cut my hair (pixie cut). This kind of a change is really great and refreshing! I was feeling like a new person. My advice: do it! You have a lot of time to grow your hair long again ;)
ReplyDeleteI love all these pictures, and have the same dilemma myself sometimes. I have very long hair now, all the way down my back, but it is such a hassle to keep and doesn't fall exactly how I want it to... so short, cute hair seems so appealing sometimes. All it takes is for me to see a lovely girl with either short or long hair for me to completely change my mind about both!

Great photos! :D I personally prefer having short hair as it's so much more manageable, especially as I live in HK! xx
ReplyDeleteI've got the dilemma too just like you. I have never had a long hair before and right now I'm trying to grow it out and I have to keep reminding myself to not cut it. I think you should not cut your hair too. ;)
ReplyDeleteHello Stef,
ReplyDeleteI think your hair length is great. It doesn't need to be so long. My hairdresser says that having long hair just to have long hair has no interest. The most important is the hair health. Just cut 5cm and refresh your hairstyle. It will grow better then. About a short hair cut, well effectively a bob is cute. I dit it 2 years ago and half but regretted it. Maybe because I was used to have long hair. It was stylish, cute and quite sexy but I missed my hair length. Also it wasn't that easy every morning to discipline my hair. It took me 2 years to get a nice hair length back. But I don't want you to stop from cutting your hair ^^ Beside I'm pretty sure you would look great with a bob. But it's definitely up to you, the choice is yours, and it's a very personal choice. Who knows?! The hair cut could be a revelation! Hope your understand my English. Take care x
ah thanks darling. i still havent decided it yet ..but well. xx
DeleteFor me, I love having short hair. It's in sort of a pixie right now. I've had it a-symmetrical, to pixie, to half-shaved, to in-between half shaved and a-line, back to pixie. Then I added some blonde chunks. Growing it out to a bob, I think.
ReplyDeleteI just love it cause it looks like a different cut every few weeks. And I don't totally agree with that list of reasons not to cut your hair - I wash my hair less often with it short than I did with it long, and my husband loves my short hair. BUT my hair is very fine, and doesn't grow out well.
As far as you're concerned, you would look gorgeous with any one of these cuts! You're just a doll. I feel like it looks so great long right now. But I'm a firm believer in going with your hair impulses. I think what we do with our outside reflects something about our insides.
Maybe set a date, a few months from now. Grow it a while, see if you're still feeling the urge to cut it. If you are, just do it!
You have found a BEAUTIFUL pictures!!!!
ReplyDeleteand about the hair dilemma, I think long hair is more beautiful than the short one and I also agree about it's hard to wait for it to grow but at the end you will have a beautiful loooong hair (:
I had a variety of bob cuts throughout my teen years, until one day I realised my neck is far too large to keep using it. I grew it once past my shoulder blades and got a radical short cut after a breakup. It's now growing again and everyday I fight the urge to chop it all off.
ReplyDeleteUh.... I don't think I have a point.
But hair always grows, anyway :)
BTW: have you started shooting my film yet?
DO NOT CUT IT!! I have the same problem, it takes decades for my hair to grow, I LOVE people with long hair. So I'm not cutting mine and I'm letting it grow in it's own time. I know it takes time and patience, but think that in the end you'll see that it was worth to wait.
ReplyDeletei think you would suit short hair
ReplyDeleteC'est tellement beau..
ReplyDeleteFirst of all I 'm so excited that you're talking again Stefany!
ReplyDeleteAnd secondly I have to tell you one thing:
''put a wetsuit on, come on, come on,
grow your hair out long, come on, come on…!''
I know the hair thing is a big problem! I suffer from luck of calcium and my hair and nails are so difficult to grow! I have the exact same hair length for 10 years!
But I love your hair :) I think this length really suits you.
On the other hand sometimes cutting your hair makes a dramatically beautiful change. like in Ashleigh’s case:

-after: http://lookbook.nu/look/4699417-Shirt-Romwe-Skirt-Ebay-Chelsea-Boots-Electricity-Vs-The-Dead
You're beautiful either way, the choice is yours.
ah thanks for the examples dear!!
DeleteI think you'd look beautiful with either but I'm really liking short hair at the moment and I think it would suit your face shape and style and it's easy to manage and will always grow back if you decide you prefer longer hair I hope this helps, you're really lovely and inspiring Thankyou :)xxxx
ReplyDeleteI think you would suit and look beautiful with both long and short hair however I personally think you would look really gorgeous with short hair, it would suit you so much as well as your style and face, it would also be easier to manage and if you decide you prefer longer hair you can always just star growing it again or get extensions, regardless of what you choose it'll look wonderful. I hope this helps you're so lovely and inspiring Thankyou :) xxxx
ReplyDeletegood vs.-post. love your hair. prefere short. however, you're beautiful. :)<3
ReplyDeleteThis page feels like home to me, I always miss it and come back
ReplyDeleteCut it!
ReplyDeleteI cut mine yesterday :)
i like you with long blondish hair.
ReplyDeleteI have the same dilemma every second day:to cut or dye my hair. I guess it comes out of boredom.
Even if you had long, pretty hair you still would wanna cut/change them.
you are too cute with any hairstyle.
Thank you. :) doubt, doubt ha!x
