The day after your birthday. It comes just as your birthday comes. It comes and goes. I was never a fan of birthday parties or the fact of getting older. I find the idea of awkwardly standing next to a cake and having all the people looking at you singing that song a bit terrifying. In fact, I prefer to have the day just as any other but, it is weird; there is always this feeling that you have now a new age to memorize when people ask how old you are. One of the good things about the day after your birthday is when you get up in the morning with brewed coffee and, Sylvia Plath's drawings to look at. Forever 21 – never 21 again.
I kind of feel the same about birthdays. I normally don't do anything and just forget about it until a months or so later when I'm like, oh yeah, I turned a year older not too long ago. Aha, oh well. We can't all stay young forever. x
" I find the idea of awkwardly standing next to a cake and having all the people looking at you singing that song a bit terrifying. " - Isto chega a ser deprimente, assemelha-se um pouco a um velório! O nosso único consolo é pensar que podemos manter o espírito mais jovem, desafiando assim a idade e o tempo. Bonito post, bonitas fotografias as usual e pronto, Sylvia é sempre Sylvia^^ :)* Ao menos que tenhas tido um aniversário mais épico que os outros dias, hopefully!
I turned 22 this past month and everyone expected that I would be upset, but I can say that I almost completely forget I'm not 21 anymore.. which doesn't cause me any grief, other than making me feel embarrassed for being so absent minded.
This has happened to me often, thats why I mentioned 'memorizing my age'. I once told someone I was 20 when I was 21 because I have forgotten I was actually 21 hah.
